CFCA DRIVE-IN MOVIE NIGHT in Lakeland, FL. CFCA will DEPART from the Kirkman Road Cracker Barrel Restaurant (5859 Caravan Ct, Orlando 32819) at 4:45 p.m. to caravan over to the drive-in. The movies don't start until approx. 7:30 pm, but that will give us time to get down there through the I-4 construction traffic and time to get some authentic drive-in movie cuisine from their concessions stand (you've got to try the pepperoni pizza!). 53RD ANNUAL MOBIL 12 HOURS OF SEBRING. A diverse field is expected, including several new entries. In GT1, the Corvette C6-R, the world debut of the Aston Martin DB9, as well as entries from Ferrari, Maserati, Saleen, and Viper are expected. Race runs 10:30AM-10:30PM. A Time/Distance/Speed event intended as a simple, easy, and FUN rally that starts in Taveres and ends at Daytona Beach. Rally starts at Starts at Lake Idamere Park off Hwy 19 just south of Tavares, Florida. Suggest you bring the following on the rally: working odometer, calculator, timepiece, pen & clipboard. HUNTER'S CREEK 4TH OF JULY PARADE AND CORVETTE DISPLAY - Saturday, July 2 - 9:00 a.m. More CONVERTIBLES are needed to carry dignitaries. They are paying us for 10 convertibles but all who want to participate are welcome. All others are invited to participate in the parade and the after-parade Corvette display. We will also be selling refreshments after the parade as a fund raiser. Decorate your car for the 4th of July and come on out and join in the fun. A&W DRIVEOUT. Remember that hot, sunny day when you rode your bicycle to the neighborhood A & W to get a thirst quenching, cold root beer in a frosted mug? Well, let's bring back some of those memories with a Corvette Drive-Out to the new A & W on highway 50 in Clermont. 5:00 - meet at Target on Hwy 50 in Clermont (north side of the street); 5:15 - leave for a beautiful loop drive, ending up at A & W for food and drink and conversation (on north side of street, next to Target). A & W is offering a FREE, yes FREE, ROOTBEER FLOAT, with the purchase of a meal. They also are having give-a-ways for us to raffle off, so come spend some relaxing time with fellow Corvette owners. LAKE RIDGE WINERY DRIVEOUT. We will meet at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant on West Highway 50 in Clermont at 11:00 a.m. for the Drive Out. We will then travel to the Winery for a tour. Unfortunately due to the summer music series event the winery could not provide us with a scheduled tour time but I will let them know how many to expect and at what time. After the tour there will be free live music (weather permitting) beginning at 1:00 p.m. According to the winery there will be food available at the event. Please RSVP if you plan on attending. All participants will receive a little wine related surprise for attending! If anyone would be interested in expanding the drive out to include an early dinner, please let me know and I will make arrangements for us at one of the area restaurants. CORVETTES IN PARADISE, Islamorada, Florida Keys. Sponsored by the Florida Keys Corvette Club.
*** THIS EVENT IS BACK ON AT A NEW LOCATION! *** Although the Holiday Isle Resort in Islamorada backed out due to damages caused by Hurricane Wilma, that wasn't enough to kill this event. Power is back on in the Keys so the venue has been changed to the Key Colony Bay Hotel at 13351 Overseas Hwy (Mile Marker 54), Oceanside, Marathon, FL. Rooms start at $84.50 (show special) and their number is 800-791-5397. Due to the storm and the change in venue, attendance will likely be down but NOT the FUN FACTOR! The trophies and t-shirts have already been purchased so if you can attend you are still sure to have a GREAT time with all our friends in the Keys. 5TH ANNUAL BREVARD COUNTY CORVETTE TOY RUN. The Corvette Clubs of Brevard County (Cape Kennedy, Space Coast and Titusville) sponsored by Eckler’s Corvette Parts and the Port Canaveral Cove Association, will be hosting their 5th annual toy run to benefit the Disadvantaged Children of Brevard County, ages infant - 18. All Corvette owners are urged to attend. Club affiliation is not necessary. A donation of an unwrapped gift and book (suggested $15 minimum combined value) is requested for each Corvette participating. Gift Certificates are accepted. Starting at 12:00pm, we will meet at Eckler’s 5140 S. Washington Ave Titusville, FL. Parking will be by class (C1-C6). At 2:30pm, the parade will commence heading south on US1 to SR528 east terminating at Rusty’s Seafood & Oyster Bar 628 Glen Cheek Drive Cape Canaveral, FL where the Cape Canaveral Fire Department will be collecting the toys. This year CFCA will deliver gifts and our annual Christmas donation during a driveout to the Russell Home on Sunday, Dec 4th, meeting at Courtesy Chevrolet (Hwy 436/OIA) on Sunday, December 4, at 10:00am, departing for the Russell Home at 10:30 with lunch at the Road House on Orange Ave following our visit.
